Dimitar and Daniela Luchev are married for more than 4 years. They have been living in Stara Zagora since 2001.
Dimitar was born in north-west Bulgaria in the family of atheists. He grew up in Sofia and later on studied in an art school in the province. He got to know the Lord when he was 18. His whole family converted to the faith after the miraculous healing of his mother.
Since his conversion Dimitar became very passionate for the Lord and was eager to see other young people come to the knowledge of Christ. He was committed ministering to the youth in the local church, which he joined. Couple of years later he became the youth pastor. After he was dismissed form the regular army service he went to Germany where he was admitted in the European Theological Seminary in Rugersberg. Upond his graduation from the Seminary he returned to Buglaria. He did not return to his home town, but moved to Stara Zagora where he was invited to teach theology in the newly opened Bulgarian Theological College (which is presently one of the Faculties of the High Theological Evangelical Institute). After couple of years of experience in the field of Christian education Dimitar moved to Cleveland, Tennessee. He earned his Master of Divinity in the Church of God Theological Seminary. In the beginning of 2003 Luchev’s family returned to Stara Zagora, Bulgaria. Dimitar continued his work at the Bulgarian Theological College. Few months later (in March 2003) he was led by the Lord to start a ministry in the inner city of Stara Zagora. He and few other men started the Awakening Church of God. Their desire was to reach people for Christ and equip all Christians for the harvest. So far the church has been growing and maturing, fulfilling its God given vision.
Dimitar is a passionate pastor and a brilliant scholar. He combines love for theology with love for people. His desire is to see people reconcile with God and experience total restoration. He knows that being a pastor he plays major role in that process. His call is to mentor and disciple people until they become wholesome persons and exemplify Christ in all areas of their lives.Pastor Luchev’s wife Daniela was born in south-west Germany in a pastor’s family. She has been going to church since she was a little child. She was taught to love the Lord and show love and compassion for people. When Daniela turned 16 she decided to commit herself to missions work. She lived in Kenia, West Africa for a year where her love for missions grew even stronger. Upon returning in Germany Daniela decided to start studying in The European Theological Seminary hoping that there she will be equipped for the call of God in her life. It is there where she met Dimitar and married him after her graduation. Daniela knew that the Lord is calling her to Bulgaria where she and her husband moved and started ministering.
Daniela and Dimitar have two wonderful daughters. Beatrice is 4 years old and Janine is 2 year old. Both of them are very energetic girls to whom Daniela is now fully committed.

Both Dimitar and Daniela are devoted to the ministry of the Awakening Church of God. They are its founders and senior pastors. Their love for God and care for people is contagious. Their mission is the people of Stara Zagora.
